This haunted and mysterious building is said to be home to several ghosts and many strange occurrences. Set in three acres of grounds with a further 14 acres of woodland to explore.
This beautiful Georgian Manor House which was built in 1840 and overlooks the Fowey Estuary. It was an amazing place to investigate with its original ceilings and ornate stairway.
Famous for being where the infamous Italian Garibaldi stayed.
The whole house as it stands today, still maintains a certain stateliness. Penquite House is now currently used in season, as a Youth Hostel, but certainly still keeps its original elegance and charm.
We started our investigation around 10:00pm in the attic bedrooms and gradually worked room by room all the way down through the house with nothing to report. We then made are way down to old cellar it was this part of the house were the investigation got interesting.
We decided to try the Frank's box, which is a FM/AM radio designed to keep constantly scanning the airwaves never locking on to any one frequency. Whilst the device scans it creates a static type white noise intermixed with random actual radio broadcasts (blips) which creates a chatter of sorts that is then used by the spirits to manipulate into words for communication. The words are formed by the spirits using this chatter not speaking over it, so all of the noise is needed to communicate successfuly in real time, which means your hear the voices as they speak not later in a recording. This technology is fairly new to the world of paranormal reasearch.
There were 6 people present so we all introduced ourselves by first name only and asked out if there were any spirits present and who would you like to speak to and within a couple of seconds the name Nicola was heard very clearly by all, there was a Nicola present so the chances of that name coming from the Franks Box is extremely high. We then asked for the spirit's name to which it replied Racheal, again very clear and heard by all. This communication went on for a few minutes all of which has been recorded via a digital voice recorder as evidence.
We took a lot of digital photos all night through all locations but to no avail, nothing out of the ordinary was captured, this was also the same for our night vision video camera. We concluded our investigation about 01:00am with the thoughts of our strange communication in the cellar.
